3 Easy Halloween Crafts

There’s still time to add some Halloween decorations around the house in prep for the big day. Plus, it could be fun to tackle a craft project with your kids to spark their imagination and get them in the spooky spirit!

These are some easy Halloween crafts to create with your family (if you haven’t already):

Paper Plate Pumpkins: With just a few supplies – paper plates, orange, black, and green construction paper, scissors, and glue – you can turn a plate into a pumpkin that can be hung in your window or on your door. First, glue orange paper to cover the paper plate. Then, cut out and glue black paper shapes onto it to create the pumpkin’s face and a green shape to create its stem. Join in with your kid to create one of your own!

Paper Roll Bats: Gather leftover toilet paper rolls and black paint, paper, or makers to cover the rolls. Next, cut “bat wings” out of black construction paper and glue or tape them to the back of each roll. Add eyes and fangs to create the bat’s face out of colored paper, markers or beads. Lastly, imagine your home as a bat cave with your child where the bats you create together can hang and fly around for Halloween!

Stick Spider Webs: Popsicle sticks (or sticks found outside), yarn, and glue is all you need. Overlap three sticks together at their center in the shape of a star and glue them together. For extra support, tie the glued center with yarn, then weave the yarn in and out of the sticks from the center, all the way out to the edges, before tying it off to create a spider web. Add a small handmade or plastic spider to it somewhere and find a good place to hang it!

Happy crafting…and happy (early) Halloween from the HeyKiddo family! 🎃
